Here’s what’s been going on in the last couple of weeks, in reverse chronological order:
Today: First Day of School
Today was the first day of HBS Class of 2009. It was actually quite exciting for me and I’ve been dreaming about being late for the first class at least three times this week :) Today wasn’t the first day of classes though, we have three days of Orientation and real classes only start on Friday.
Today started off at 8:40am with the Dean’s Welcome. It was the first time I got to see all of my 900 classmates, and I have to tell you it’s amazing. To hear 900 people laugh, clap or just chat all together make you really realize the power of this number. Like someone later said, 900 people is not bad for a rock concert…
Dean Jay Light welcomed us to school and other important MBA-program people did too, with a presentation of one of the marketing professors (whose name I can’t remember now…) being really funny. Sample quote – “HBS is really a non-profit organization. We don’t have profit, we have surplus“.
