After a year of blogging (woohoo!), here’s some funny and interesting statistics about the blog, courtesy of Google Analytics:

Number of visits: 12,441

Absolute unique visitors: 6,819 people, coming from 107 countries.

Number of page views: 35,606

Average time on site: 3:03 minutes

Countries where most people are coming from - pretty expected (except for United Arab Emirates!):

But check out this table - showing the countries who spend the longest time on the site:

The one thing common to all of these countries?

I haven’t been to any of them!

How do people reach the site? many reach it directly or via mail subscription (top-right corner to join my exclusive list of 40 subscribers). But a quarter arrives via Google search, which brings me to my favorite part -

Amusing Google Search keywords for reaching the blog! (and my supposedly amusing thoughts about them)

“best looking” mba students - definitely at HBS. Especially the Israeli girls.

fun at hbs - does not exist.

how to get into hbs - by reading my blog, of course. Donations are also welcome.

university cocktail party networking etiquette - that’s definitely what you’re going to find in this blog.

hbs classroom pictures - this one is not very amusing, but the funny thing is that 26 different people reached the blog after searching for this phrase! What is it that makes HBS classroom so fascinating? Anyways, to satisfy popular demand, there’s a photo in this post.

a pleasure talking to you - time to shut down the computer and get a life.

“columbia business school” and “as good as” and “hbs” - hmm… using And in a Google search isn’t effective.

“harvard business school” turkey blog - I know he has a Facebook profile, but our turkey has a blog now???

turkey1.jpg

interviews aren’t easy - you got that one right.

mathematical models of risk management - Google sure does a terrible job if you get my blog when you search for that.

“case study handbook” free pdf - nice try, buddy. But you can buy it here.

zebra view - go McFarlan!

Love you all! Thank you so much for reading my nonsense this year!

There should lot of hits from the same cubicle in California. Google Earth should be integrated to give your the snapshot the viewer’s location. I like the tone in which you write your blog.

Hey, great blog. My theory: The reason people from El Salvador, Ethiopia, etc are spending so much time readin the blog is that their English isn’t very good, i.e. it takes them much longer to read a single entry compared to U.S., Canadian, and European people. Sound plausible?

soni - good thinking - I thought so too, but then I saw that the number of pages they read is also higher, so it’s not that they’re slower (or not only), they read more.
