Facebook Fascination

I first heard of Facebook about a year ago, when a friend from Israel asked me to join and told me it’s a site where people upload their photos and can tag themselves in these photos. As attractive as this sounded, I politely declined. The truth is I don’t like social network websites; in general I still shudder to the thought of someone googling me and finding my photos or any other embarrassing information about me. So I stayed away from Facebook.

And then I came to HBS. In Pre-MBA in July, people started uploading photos from our get-togethers to Facebook. I still refused to join, and made them send me direct links to their albums instead.

Thanksgiving & Weather

Living in a place with four real seasons (as opposed to Israel…) is definitely a change. Last week we had snow for the first time. It didn’t stay on the ground and was more ice than snow, but my cool weather gadget still had this icon for the very first time:

Midterms and International Week

This week was International Week @ HBS – more details below. Saturday was Cyberposium, the technology conference I helped organizing, more on that next time. It went very well.

Last week we finished our midterms, so that’s a good opportunity to talk about the (somewhat bizarre) grading system at HBS.
